Assignment - ToC and End Page

Mon. and Tue., March 29-30 Passover, no continuing education classes


ASSIGNMENT
1) Fix and finish up what you've done so far. That includes all 3 features (openers and jump spreads), and all 3 department spreads, and the cover wrap.
2) In addition to these, design a table of contents spread and an end page spread.
3) Make a quick color printout to size and bind with glue stick back to back so we can look at the pacing.

GUIDELINES

CONTENTS AND END PAGES
Contents and End Pages are also departments. Therefore, they follow the same formula as the other departments do.
CONTENTS
However in the contents spread, your rubric could read "contents" or you could use the name of your magazine or take them both out. This is your stylistic choice. It is basically the list of the contents with their page numbers. Features get a small blurb and the byline, departments only get bylines.
END SPREAD
Usually in a magazine the very end page is an ad. But since you will be designing it as a spread it could be anything you wish.This is again your stylistic choice. Some magazines use generic subjects such as a horoscope, cartoon or crossword puzzle. Try to come up with a clever and fun subject for your end spreads.
