Design your second feature in spreads. Design the opener and the jump.
Finish your first feature i.e. design the jump.
Keep in mind that feature opener is to grab the attention of the reader. Your job is to intrigue, raise curiosity or make the page look alluring so that the reader would turn the page and want to read the story. In the jump spread you should be able to keep the reader in the same mood. It's harder because the jump is more text driven. So use your design elements visely.
Think pull quotes as design elements that break up the text.
Try to stay true to the flow of the story.
Print everything and post on your blog.
P.S: Noone's stopping you if you have time to design your third feature. Go ahead!
