Your Syllabus

Everyone,
Genevieve sent out the Syllabus for the class. Make sure you go over it and plan ahead.
I have posted in the column to the right under the favorite typefaces so its there and you have access to it. PLAN AHEAD! You have lots of work to do, so don't procrastinate. Make sure you have your type specimen books done and plan for next week's NY Times mark up assignments.

Class Requirements

*Please, bring all your layouts to every class so that we can see how each magazine is developing.

*Please, be on time for the field trips. These art directors are busy and are doing us a favor.

*For reference please purchase and study the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) Annuals and Ellen Lupton's Thinking with Type both available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, the Strand, etc.
* Please, post all your layouts on your blogs.

Other Valuable Resources Include: The Type Directors Club annuals, the Art Directors Club annuals, GQ, Esquire, The New York Times Style magazine, Details, Portfolio and Martha Stewart Living and Kids magazines among others.
Get them! Study the typographic specifics.
