For this coming week you should bring to class:
fully designed feature opener and jump spreads.

Also,
i just e-mailed all of a you a PDF with professional design samples that Genevieve compiled.
Towards the back you see more of the Feature spreads. See how they use the typography for full, fun, unexpected effects. If you don't get the PDF let me know.

Class Requirements

*Please, bring all your layouts to every class so that we can see how each magazine is developing.

*Please, be on time for the field trips. These art directors are busy and are doing us a favor.

*For reference please purchase and study the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) Annuals and Ellen Lupton's Thinking with Type both available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, the Strand, etc.
* Please, post all your layouts on your blogs.

Other Valuable Resources Include: The Type Directors Club annuals, the Art Directors Club annuals, GQ, Esquire, The New York Times Style magazine, Details, Portfolio and Martha Stewart Living and Kids magazines among others.
