ASSIGNMENT FOR NEXT WEEK

Hey Everyone.

Your assignment for next week:

1. Finalize your department template and typography

2. Finalize your feature template and typography

3. Design 20 variations of your first opening feature spread.

You may include pictures, icons, whatever you would like.

No Lorem Ipsum, No 'Header' text, No dummy copy.

The headers and copy should all be the headers and copy you will be using in your final magazine.

Example:

Magazine about Dining in Colorado: Feature Opener ' Mile-High Pizza Pie' ( or something to that affect) = great!

Magazine about Dining in Colorado: Feature Opener... something about bicycles I pulled from the New Yorker 20 minutes before class = not okay.

*Please, be on time for the field trips. These art directors are busy and are doing us a favor.

*For reference please purchase and study the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) Annuals and Ellen Lupton's Thinking with Type both available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, the Strand, etc.
* Please, post all your layouts on your blogs.
