- New assignment is to finish up everything you have done:
table of contents, 3 departments, 3 features (openers and jumps) and end page. - In addition to these, design a cover wrap and magazine logo.
- Bring all your work to class.
GUIDELINES
- LOGO
Please read the course PDFs Lesson3 and Exercise 3, Publication logos. - CONTENTS
Contents pages are designed to show the page numbers of your departments and features, for easy access. Features are always more important than departments. Therefore they usually have little blurbs and a byline where departments appear as a list.
You could pick the most important feature and use an image relating that story, but make sure you are not using the same image in your feature opener or jump... - CAPTIONS
Every photography requires a caption... captions describe the people, place, date, and events depicted in the photography. Captions are often a variation of the text type--generally a smaller size in bold or italics, or occasionally small caps. - CREDIT LINES
Credit lines identify the person responsible for the photographs or illustrations used in your layouts. They always run in the same location on the page or spread. Credit lines often run in small caps or caps lower case at 5 or 6 points. Typeface should be a variation of the text face.
However, there's an exception. If you are featuring images by a well known photographer or illustrator, or if the story is a photo essay or series of illustrations by the same artist, the credit line might print with the byline in the same size and typeface.
Work hard.
A.
